Really nice staff, great food (chips and pie star of the show): super location, very peaceful by the river, and good selection of drinks. Couldn't recommend highly enough as a gateway to Dartmoor
Absolutely outstanding food, staff and atmosphere. Went in for Sunday lunch as heard it was under new management and Wow. 100% recommend. The food was stunning, the staff were exceptional and the atmosphere was so welcoming and friendly. Vegan and Gluten Free friendly.
Lovely little inn, set on the river dart, had a stunning view from my small room called The wren, very cosy with a huge kettle, coffe tea and a hot chocolate, fluffy towels, shower room very small but very clean, food good including breakfast, overall a very nice 1 night stay
Came here for lunch with my son. Staff were freindly and helpful. We sat outside by the river, which was lovely on a sunny day. We both had a baguette and shared some fries. The food arrived in good time and was very good.
Absolutely wonderful stay! The staff couldn’t have been more attentive! The room was clean & modern with one of the most comfortable beds; only reason for the 4 star was due to the size of the bathroom. With that being said, the food was gorgeous, breakfast lunch & dinner! All in all an amazing stay; a larger portion of that down to the staff! Highly recommended to all!

Popped in here for dinner after a day at River Dart Country Park with the kids. Beautiful location next to the river and a warm and welcoming pub after a long day. Fantastic food and lovely staff. Great veggie/vegan options too. Would highly recommend and would visit again! Particularly great burger.
Lovely location next to river dart . I’m staying here for two nights while visiting the south Devon railway diesel gala . Have eaten her both nights of my stay. Both meals were excellent,fish and chips last night and rib eye steak tonight . Small but good selection of beers from st Austell brewery last night and drinking Devon red cider tonight. Breakfast this morning was very good looking forward to tomorrow’s breakfast.
Stylish country pub. More than meets the eye from the roadside. The river view is perfect, the bar and restaurant are smart and the place is wonderfully presented.
We went for a sunday roast yesterday (18/1/26) we were lucky to get a table for 2 as they were so busy, the service was super, greeted with a smile at the bar, we were shown to our table and ordered two roasts which were incredible! Compliments to the chef! The pub was warm, the woodburner was lit and very cosy, the entire pub was clean, light and welcoming, we will be returning and would recommend The Abbey Inn to friends and family.
